How to brewing Black Tea (Chinese Hong Cha)
As the most widely consumed tea in the world, red tea has a mild character. This tea can been drunk by itself or mixed other ingredients, depending one’s preference.
When drunk by itself, red tea is prepared by first cleaning the tea ware, then putting a certain amount of tea leaves into a teapot with a teaspoon, and finally pouring into boiling water at about 90 degrees Celsius from a kettle lifted high above the teapot at a proportion of 50 or 60 ml of water to one gram of dried tea leaves.
Red tea can also be enjoyed with milk, lemon, sugar, etc., which is quite popular outside China.
Step of brewing red teas:
- Rinse the teapot and teacup with hot water;
- Put the leaves into the teapot with a teaspoon;
- pour boiling water into the teapot, and replaced the lid. Allow the leaves to steep for two to four minutes;
- Place a strainer on the cups, pour into the cup the brewed liquid through the strainer, and removed the strainer containing filtered tea leaves. The tea is now ready to drink.
